# Out-of-turn poker correction casebook

Six original constructed examples accompany [the article](https://gtogecko.com/blog/poker-action-out-of-turn). They isolate a procedural question: whether an early wager binds, separately from the treatment of the skipped hand.

## Governing profile

Poker TDA 2024 v1.0, Rules 36, 53 and 58, accessed September 7, 2026 (Europe/Oslo): https://www.pokertda.com/view-poker-tda-rules/ . This is a dated teaching profile. Use the event's adopted rules and staff ruling for an actual hand. The article separately discusses a heads-up passive-action restriction in the 2026 WSOP rules; the six cases do not model that branch.

All examples are no-limit Hold'em tournament turn sequences, blinds 100/200, with clear declarations, enough chips and no all-ins. Figures denote tournament chips and raise-to totals. Correction is prompt except in Case 6, which explicitly assumes reasonable time and silence until after the bet and call. No hand strength, equity, rake, player frequency or learning benefit is estimated.

## Files and use

- `cases.json`: complete scoped inputs and reviewed answers.
- `cases.csv`: the same six case rows for spreadsheet or text review.
- `reference-sheet.html`: self-contained, keyboard-accessible casebook and printable blank correction record. Open locally in a browser. No JavaScript, cookies, external fonts or network requests are needed to use the sheet; source links navigate only when clicked. Printed pages include the answer key.
- `correction-map.svg`: original procedural diagram with a text description. The article and sheet supply the full equivalent cases and caveats.
- `hero.svg`: original source for the article's WebP illustration.
- `SHA256SUMS`: SHA-256 integrity hashes of these files, excluding the hash list itself.

## Reproducibility and review

These are fixed teaching cases, not a simulation or a rule engine. Read the JSON assumptions, cover the answers on the sheet, and apply the cited profile to each sequence. Compare Cases 1–2 and 3–4 by changing only the intervening action; compare Case 5's fold with the wager branch. In Case 6, preserve both the timing assumption and the floor's unresolved hand decision. A separate reviewer checked the cases against current primary documents.

There is no sample population, randomized seed, iteration count or proprietary dataset. All six cases are synthetic. CSV fields match JSON fields exactly; publication checks compare those representations and the displayed answer text. The diagram is an original synthesis, not copied rulebook artwork. GTO Gecko created the text and assets in September 2026.

## Limits

The casebook does not parse arbitrary speech, video or hand histories. Disputed timing, unclear declarations, overlapping errors, dealer prompting, premature cards and house exceptions require facts and staff judgment. An early wager binding does not by itself establish that a skipped hand is dead. Ordinary raise-size restrictions still apply after an early wager is released.
