Matching pots and stacks does not establish matching ranges. Record the range source and the earlier bet sizes selecting which hands arrive. Nearby EVs and frequencies are not bounds or an exact grade for the missing action.

Worked example and answer key

Synthetic heads-up no-rake NLHE. At flop start, pot 20 bb and 100 bb per player behind; zero street contributions. OOP checks, IP bets, OOP calls each street. Substitute only the flop percentage; every branch then bets 75% of its own turn pot. River bet is all-in.

For matched bet/call: new pot = old pot + 2 × bet; each new stack = old stack − bet. Each final called all-in pot is 20 + 100 + 100 = 220 bb. River call costs of 55, 60 and 47.5 bb imply break-even expected pot shares of 25.00%, 27.27% and 21.59%. Shares include ties; no cards/ranges are assigned, so no actual hand equity or action is established.

The example is not a particular app’s mapping method. Software can display discrepancies or recalculate later states; inspect its documented behavior.
