What is Player Type Trainer?

Player Type Trainer helps you practice exploiting four common poker player types — Fish, Nit, Maniac, and GTO — using pre-computed GTO solver data. Each training hand presents a real scenario where optimal play has been calculated in advance, so you can learn exactly how to adjust your strategy against different opponents.

How does the ELO rating system work?

You start at 1000 ELO. Your rating adjusts after each hand based on how close your decisions are to GTO-optimal play. You have a separate ELO rating for each player type (Fish, Nit, Maniac, GTO) plus an overall rating, so you can track which opponents you exploit best.

Do I need an internet connection?

You need internet for initial sign-in and to download hand data from our servers. Once hand data is loaded, it is cached locally on your device. The leaderboard feature requires an internet connection to sync your rankings.

Which platforms is Player Type Trainer available on?

Player Type Trainer is available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).

What player types can I train against?

The app features four distinct player types:

• Fish: Loose-passive players who call too much and rarely raise.
• Nit: Tight-passive players who only play premium hands.
• Maniac: Aggressive players who bet and raise excessively.
